TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS AMONG MODERN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Modern campus students have become victims in toxic relationships lately. This is because most of them engage themselves in relationships without any knowledge about relationships and the expectations they had about relationships are not met.

Being in a toxic relationship does not involve beating alone but there are various signs that can show that you are in a toxic relationship, they include; disrespect, toxic communication, dishonesty, financial behaviours, ignoring needs.

Campus students come from different backgrounds and different lifestyles and when they meet and become partners, they both want to live the way they are brought up and this is where the relationship becomes toxic because none of them wants to listen or to live the way their partner's want.

Despite the fact that modern parents do not educate their children on issues to do with relationship due to various reasons, social media also has an impact to toxic relationships because  what young people see in movies and other platforms about relationships are totally different with what happens in real life. So when campus students want to exercise what they see on television programs and other social media platforms, they find themselves into toxic relationship.

Toxic relationship can  be avoided by;Abstaining from relationships if you are not ready for it,Walk out of the relationship before it takes your life and don't put your expectations higher than your partner's.
